More annoying radio interruption - Static or Buffering?

A quick thought on the old vs the new. I can't even think of the last time I turned on a "terrestrial" radio (probably before K-Rock got taken over, moved to an internet stream, while the traditional broadcast switched to crappy pop music); all of my current "radio" listening is done via the net. In fact, most of my music listening involves the web somehow (Pandora, Rhapsody, Jango, Slacker, YouTube, etc...).

Back when listening on FM, you had to deal with getting a sh**ty signal and
hearing static interference while the music still played. Now, the new annoyance is a sh**ty connection, the track stops, and you get the "buffering" message...almost like a CD that skips at a really slow speed.

Both are extremely annoying, but which do you hate more?

AM/FM Static?

OR

Buffering interruptions

PS - I just realized I lied earlier. I turn on terrestrial radio every day...via my alarm clock. However, I have it set to 108.1, so it's all static. It's so annoying, it wakes me right up!
